Yoshiyuki Kaneko (no relation to the voice actor of the same name)- also known as YOSHIKO- announced on Facebook on Wednesday that he is starting crowd-funding to produce a series of original video anime (OVA) episodes, titled Chuya-den ~To regain the missing sun~ (Noon & Night Legend ~To regain the missing sun~), revolving around the sport chanbara.

A trailer with English subtitles is currently streaming for the project:

The cast of the trailer stars:

Yu Kobayashi as Shu

Ayumi Fujimura as Kenta
Misato Fukuen as Tsuchi-gumo
Motomu Kiyokawa as Nurarihyon
Nobuyuki Hiyama as Kurama-Tengu
Norio Wakamoto as Sanmoto-Gorozaemon

The overall goal of the project is to create four 24~30 minute original anime episodes. The first goal of the project is to attempt to complete the first episode.

The official Facebook page for the project describes the story of the anime:

Further updates on the project will be added in English and Japanese on the project's Facebook page.

The anime is being voluntarily produced by the younger staff at animation studio Wao World, the same studio that produced last year's Spochan Taiketsu! ~Yōkai Daikessen~ film. Both this film and the upcoming project focus on chanbara ("spochan"), which is a Japanese martial art that uses padded weapons.
