Shinjuku Swan Film's Teaser, Man With a Mission & UVERworld Songs Unveiled
posted on by Egan Loo
The live-action film of Ken Wakui's Shinjuku Swan manga unveiled a teaser trailer, the tie-in songs, and a visual on Friday. The teaser features the theme song "Dive" by the band MAN WITH A MISSION.
The manga follows Tatsuhiko Shiratori, a 19-year-old with no money or job in the (in)famous Kabukichō red-light district of Tokyo's Shinjuku ward. Then one day, a man named Mako recruits him to become a scout. Tatsuhiko's job has him finding new talent for clubs, adult videos, and other areas of Kabukichō's night life. Tatsuhiko has taken his first step into the cutthroat business of Tokyo's underworld.
Shion Sono (Tokyo Tribes) is directing the film with the following cast members:
- Gou Ayano (Gatchaman) as Tatsuhiko Shiratori
- Takayuki Yamada (Densha Otoko) as Hideyoshi Minami
- Erika Sawajiri (Helter Skelter) as Ageha
- Yusuke Iseya (Casshern) as Mako
In addition, the film announced on Friday that Nobuaki Kaneko, Motoki Fukami, and Jun Murakami are also in the cast. The band UVERworld is offering "Collide" as an insert song.
The film will open in Tokyo's TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku and over 300 other theaters throughout Japan on May 30.

Wakui launched the manga in Young Magazine in 2005, and Kodansha published the 38th volume in December 2013. The manga already inspired a six-episode live-action television series in 2007. In that version, Yōsuke Kawamura played Tatsuhiko.
