Masako Nozawa as Son Gohan, Goku's son, half Saiyan and half Earthling. Behind his dream of becoming a scholar and his quiet personality lies power greater than pure Saiyans he shows only when fighting. Unable to find his fighting uniform, he fights now in his gym clothes.

Toshio Furukawa as Piccolo, a warrior of the planet Namek. He was once a great enemy of the Earth. He trained and raised Gohan as a warrior, and after sensing Frieza's ki alongside him, the two enter the fray.

Mayumi Tanaka as Krillin, the strongest human warrior trained under the tutelage of Master Roshi with Goku. He has fought alongside Goku in many life-threatening battles, but today patrols the town as a police officer.

Hikaru Midorikawa as Tenshinhan, a Crane School warrior who aspired to become the most skilled assassin, his outlook changed after fighting Goku and the others. He continued to train apart from them, but upon sensing Frieza's ki, he rushes to seek the source.

Masaharu Satou as Kame-Sen'nin (Master Roshi), a legendary martial artist who was once famous as the Muten Rōshi, and also Goku's master. Now, he lives a quiet life at Kame House. Having stayed out of the battles for a while, he makes his long-awaited return and joins the fight.

Hiromi Tsuru as Bulma, Goku's first friend who he met in the mountains. She is the heir to the Capsule Corporation and a genius mechanic, even developing the Dragon Radar. Someone informs her of Frieza's return.

Yūko Minaguchi as Videl, the daughter of champion fighter Mister Satan. She and Gohan met each other in high school, and the two married after the fight with Majin Buu. She is now a mother of a child.

Miki Itou as Android 18, an android crafted by the scientist Doctor Gero, purpose-built to kill Goku. After Cell's defeat, she married Krillin, and lives together with her daughter Marron at Kame House. She shaves Krillin's head, who is serious about a fight for the first time in a long while.

Kouichi Yamadera as Beerus
The God of Destruction, keeping balance over the world. Lives and entire worlds are at the mercy of his temper. A mighty being that not even Goku could defeat as a Super Saiyan God. He has slumbered long since the fight with Goku.

Masakazu Morita as Whis, a man of mysteries who works with Beerus as his master, whose true magnitude of power is unknown. After the fight between Goku and Beerus, he trains Goku and Vegeta, who both seek greater strength.

Shōko Nakagawa as The Oracle Fish, a mysterious fish that gives prophecies. It prophesied a worthy rival to Beerus, who came in the form of Goku as a Super Saiyan God. His careless personality often makes him forget his own prophecies.

Shigeru Chiba, Tesshô Genda, and Eiko Yamada as Pilaf, Shū, and Mai, villains who often plan to dominate the world through using the Dragon Balls, but they are always stopped by Goku and his friends. They still haven't learned their lesson, so they seek out the Dragon Balls once more, but end being used by Frieza's forces.

Ryūsei Nakao as Frieza, a former emperor whose belligerence knew no bounds, and whose domain spanned the cosmos. A shape-shifter, he possesses four forms, each more powerful than the last. His battle on Namek with Super Saiyan Goku resulted in his defeat. Afterwards, he turned his body into a cyborg and arrives at Earth, but his fight with the Trunks cost him his life. Now, the survivors of his army find a way to bring him back from Hell, but to what extent his power has grown, none can say.

Shirō Saitō as Sorbet, an alien who became the head of Frieza's army after his death. Though small, he works with cunning intellect. He plots to find Earth's Dragon Balls to revive Frieza as well as his army.

Kazuya Nakai as Tagoma, Sorbet's bodyguard. He searches for the Dragon Balls on Earth alongside Sorbet.

Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F (Dragon Ball Z: The F in Fukkatsu, or The Resurrected F) film will premiere in both 2D and 3D in theaters across Japan on April 18.

Dragon Ball manga creator Akira Toriyama said in an interview in November that the 'F' in the film's title stands for "Frieza," who will be revived in the film. Toriyama noted that he thought of the title while listening to "F" by rock band Maximum The Hormone, whom he came to know personally through a friend. The song itself features Frieza as a motif, and will be used as a "battle song" during one of the battle scenes in the film. The band originally released the song as its eighth single in July 2008.

Toriyama is personally credited with the original concept, screenplay, and character designs of the new movie. Dragon Ball Z animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro is directing the new movie. Pop idol group Momoiro Clover Z (Sailor Moon Crystal, Bodacious Space Pirates) performs the film's theme song, as well as voicing roles in the movie, playing "angels" of hell that reside where the protagonist Son Goku's enemy Frieza has been imprisoned.

Those who purchase advance tickets receive an exclusive earphone jack strap of either Goku or Frieza modeled by Toriyama. Regular advance tickets cost 1,400 yen (about US$12), middle and elementary school student tickets cost 800 yen (US$7), and pair tickets cost 2,100 yen (US$17). Special movie ticket cards are on sale now.
