Durarara!!×2 Shō Gets Episode 4.5 Episode in Theaters

"My Heart is in the Pattern of a Hot Pot" episode adapts short story from creator Narita, premieres on May 30

The official website for the Durarara!!×2 Shō sequel anime announced on Wednesday that the series will have an "Episode 4.5" premiere in Japanese theaters on Saturday, May 30.

The episode, titled "Watashi no Kokoro wa Nabe Moyō" (My Heart is in the Pattern of a Hot Pot), adapts Ryohgo Narita's original short story of the same name that was included in the Durarara!! Gaiden!? (Durarara!! Side Story!?) book of short stories that was released in celebration of the series 10th anniversary.

The episode will last 25 minutes, and will have 25 minutes of theater-only extra footage. The contents of the extra footage will be announced at a later time.

The episode will screen at theaters accross Japan, and tickets will go on sale at theaters on March 3 for the price of 1,200 yen (about US$10). Special, limited edition tickets with a CD attached are currently available for pre-order for the price of 2,200 yen (about US$18.50). The limited edition bundle will be available to purchase at both the "Russia Sushi Shop" website, and also at the Anime Japan 2015 event that is being held next month.

Takahiro Ōmori is directing the television anime at new studio Shuka with series composition by Noboru Takagi. Takahiro Kishida is designing the characters for the series, and Makoto Yoshimori is providing the music. Eri Yamazaki is designing the props, Hiromi Miyawaki is in charge of the color key, Norikazu Kamibayashi is serving as CG producer, Kazuhiko Seki is editing, Jin Tamura is in charge of photography, and the name of the animation's production group will be Ikebukuro Dollars (the same as the first season). The main cast from the original anime is returning to reprise their roles. OKAMOTO'S performs the opening theme "Headhunt" and Three Lights Down Kings performs the ending theme "Never Say Never."

The Durarara!!×2 anime is currently broadcasting in Japan, and is streaming in North America on the Aniplex Channel, Hulu, and Crunchyroll.
