Game publisher FuRyu began streaming a second promotional video for Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru: Jukai no Kioku (Yuki Yuna Is a Hero: Memory of the Woodland), its PlayStation Vita game based on the anime Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru (Yuki Yuna Is a Hero), on Thursday. The video shows Yūna Yūki's basic combat mechanics against monsters both large and small, including a boss fight.
The action game has a new scenario written by Takahiro. Battles within the game take place in the Woodland, although it seems different from normal. In the Woodland, the five members of the Hero Club meet a mysterious girl. By collecting various everyday life events between battles, certain sets of events will make characters stronger. Over 80 events exist within the game.
The anime's creator Takahiro and Studio Gokumi are supervising all aspects of the game's story and events. The game will have both battle action sequences and over 70 events depicting the daily life of the Hero Club. The cast members of the anime will reprise their roles to voice all dialogue in the game.
The game debuted in a packaged retail edition for 6,480 yen (about US$61), in a limited edition for 9,480 yen (about US$89), and via download for 6,000 yen (about US$56) on Thursday. Pre-ordered copies came with an original mini clear file folder.
The story takes place in the era of the gods, year 300. Yūna Yūki lives an ordinary life as a second year middle school student, but she's also a member of the "Hero Club," where club activities involve dealing with a mysterious being called "Vertex."
Seiji Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation, Danganronpa The Animation) directed the series based on an original plan by Takahiro (Akame ga KILL!) at Studio Gokumi. Makoto Uezu handled series composition, and BUNBUN designed the characters.
