Pokémon: Mega Evolution Special IV Slated for Fall

Next episode features Alain in fierce battle with secret of mega evolution in his hands

The Pokémon Company began streaming the first promotional video for the Pocket Monsters XY Tokubetsu Hen: Saikyō Mega Shinka ~Act IV~ (Pokémon XY Special: The Strongest Mega Evolution ~Act IV~) special on Thursday. The special will air this fall.

Alain: My journey revolving around mega evolutions leaves Hoenn, and returns to Kalos. I still have to get stronger. The enemy that stands before me is my trial. TV Tokyo describes the story of the first two acts:

Mega Evolution. A new evolutionary form introduced in the Kalos Region. Is it really possible for all Pokémon to undergo Mega Evolution? This story revolves around a young trainer named Alain and his partner Lizadon (Charizard). Alain's objective on his journey is to "defeat all Mega Evolution Pokémon and stand at the top of the strongest summit." Along their journey Alain and Charizard meet and battle with Mega Absol and Mega Gaburias (Mega Garchomp). Additionally, Alain will battle with ZUMI (Siebold), one of the Kalos Elite Four. Does Siebold also have a Mega Evolution Pokémon? Why is Alain so obsessed with Mega Evolution? And what is the real purpose of his journey?

The first special debuted in Japan in April 2014, and then Cartoon Network aired the special under the title Pokémon: Mega Evolution Special I in May 2014. The second special premiered in Japan in November, and Cartoon Network aired it in America in February. The third special aired in Japan on March 19.

The ongoing Pokémon XY television anime series normally airs on TV Tokyo in the 7:00 p.m. timeslot on Thursdays. The series began airing on Cartoon Network in January 2014.
