Akita Shoten's online magazine Champion Cross published the conclusion of Shū Hirose's The Labyrinth of Grisaia ~Sanctuary Fellows~ manga on March 17. The comic also reveals that Akita Shoten will publish the manga's single compiled book volume on April 20, and The Eden of Grisaia (Grisaia no Rakuen) manga sequel will launch in the next serialized installment.
Hirose's The Fruit of Grisaia ~Sanctuary Fellows~ manga adaptation of Frontwing's visual novel began in Akita Shoten's Champion Red Ichigo in 2013, but the magazine ceased publication in August this year. The manga has since run online in Champion Cross. The fourth and final compiled volume shipped on December 19.
Hirose launched the adaptation of The Labyrinth of Grisaia (Grisaia no Meikyū) in Champion Cross on December 16.
Sekai Project ran a successful Kickstarter campaign in October to bring all three visual novels in the series—The Fruit of Grisaia, The Labyrinth of Grisaia, and The Eden of Grisaia—to the West. The three games were green-lit for distribution under Steam Greenlight in January.
An anime adaptationof the original visual novel also began last October. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American release. The Labyrinth of Grisaia anime special will premiere on April 12, followed by The Eden of Grisaia television series on April 19.
The story takes place at the private Mihama Academy, where five girls who seem normal attend the school due to "certain reasons." A sixth student "with reasons" named Yūji Kazami transfers in. Yūji has an ego with such darkness that he does not fade in comparison to the five girls, who are so different from the norm. As they each meet each other, they deepen their understanding of one another. Through the small bits of progress they make, each of their hearts will be affected. When Yūji arrives, a story of girls who are trapped by their pasts begins.
