Ju-on: The Final Film's Teaser Looks Back on Horror Franchise

The official Japanese website of the Ju-on horror film series began streaming a teaser for the Ju-on: The Final film on March 17. The teaser looks back on the previous films in the series, and notes that it has repeatedly earned first place for Japanese polls for "Scariest Horror Movie Series."
The Ju-on: The Final is promoted as the last film in the Ju-on franchise. The film will open in Japanese theaters on June 20. Masayuki Ochiai, director of the most recent film Ju-On: Owari no Hajimari (Ju-On: Beginning of the End), will return to direct.
Airi Taira (20th Century Boys) will star in the film as Mai. In the story, she goes looking for her younger sister Yui (Nozomi Sasaki), a school teacher who disappeared during Ju-On: Owari no Hajimari while visiting the home of a truant student Toshio Saeki (Kai Kobayashi). Misaki Saisho and will return as Kayako Saeki.
The first Juon: The Grudge film opened in theaters in Japan in 2003 and was adapted into a Hollywood live-action film starring Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2004. The horror film franchise received two more Hollywood adaptations and multiple sequels in Japan. Ju-On: Owari no Hajimari opened last June.
