The June issue of Gentosha's Comic Birz magazine is announcing on Thursday that Rensuke Oshikiri (Hi Score Girl, Pupipō!) will begin a new manga series titled Guranba in the magazine's July issue, which will ship on May 30. The preview for the manga (seen right) reads, "Rensuke Oshikiri's pure black passion gushes out! The oldest (granny) heroine X survival instincts!!"
The June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is also announcing on Saturday that Oshikiri will publish a "traditional fantasy" one-shot manga titled "Hell Fire" in the magazine's July issue, which will ship on June 6.
Oshikiri had been serializing the arcade romantic comedy Hi Score Girl (High Score Girl) in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine since 2011, but the manga has been on hiatus since last year due to a legal controversy involving multiple game developers. The manga had an anime adaptation announced before the controversy broke. Oshikiri's Pupipō! horror comedy manga ran in the free web comic magazine Flex Comix Blood from 2007 to 2009. The series inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in 2013.
