Kana Hanazawa's Upcoming Book to Bundle Kanadian Families CG Anime

The collected book of Kana Hanazawa's Kanagatari monthly column, titled Kanagatari. Kanabakari., will come bundled with an original anime DVD starring Hanazawa herself. The 3D CG anime is titled Kanadian Families. Kadokawa will publish the book with the DVD bundle on July 10. Newtype's official Youtube channel also began streaming a trailer for the anime on Wednesday.
The anime will star:
- Kana Hanazawa as Kana-chan/Narrator
- Yōji Ueda as Frog
- Hisako Kanemoto as Dog
- Mikako Takahashi as Kingfisher
Additionally, the book will come with a "Kanadian Families Episode Zero" comic by Asada that serves as a prologue to the anime.
Shintarō Asanuma (The Tatami Galaxy, Assassination Classroom voice actor) wrote the anime's script. Hanazawa and Nikki Asada (Sound! Euphonium character designs) designed the characters. The studio cort is in charge of animation production.
The rest of the staff includes:
- CD Modeling: Ranō Kaneko, Goropeko, Bane
- Illustrations: Hime
- Sound Effects: Gakuonsha
Hanazawa has been publishing a monthly column about her work in Kadokawa's Monthly Newtype magazine since the magazine's July 2012 issue. The essays also come with comics by Asada portraying the topic of the columns. The book will compile all the essays from the magazine's July 2012 issue until this year's April issue.
The book is only available via pre-order, and the deadline to pre-order is May 31.
