Gangsta. TV Anime's 'Promo Video 1.5' Streamed

Series starring Kenjiro Tsuda, Junichi Suwabe to premiere in July

The official website for the television anime of Kohske's Gangsta. manga began streaming a "1.5" promotional video on Thursday.

Shukou Murase (Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, Genocidal Organ) is directing the anime with series composition by Shinichi Inotsume (Hayate the Combat Butler, The Pilot's Love Song), and Koichi Hatsumi (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King, Deadman Wonderland) is credited as series director. Yōichi Ueda is designing the characters for the anime, and Tsutchie (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) is composing the music for the soundtrack. Manglobe (The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke, Hayate the Combat Butler! Cuties) is producing the animation.

In addition, STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION will perform the anime's opening theme "Renegade," while Annabel will perform the ending theme "Yoru no Kuni" (Country of Night).

The series is scheduled to premiere this July on the ABC Asahi, Tokyo MX TV, TV Aichi, and BS11 channels.

The manga revolves around Nick and Worick, two men who take on jobs from both the mafia and the police in the town of Ergastulum, a rotten town filled with mafia, hoodlums, prostitutes, and dirty cops.

Kohske launched the original manga in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine in 2010, and Shinchosha will publish the seventh compiled volume on July 9. Viz has licensed the series for North American release, and the company shipped the sixth compiled volume in English on May 19.
