Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold 3DS RPG Video Previews Cooking

Atlus USA began streaming a cooking promotional video on Friday for the Nintendo 3DS role-playing game Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight (Shin Sekai-ju no Meikyū 2: Fafnir no Kishi). In the game, players can gather ingredients and cook more than 70 Japanese, Western, and Chinese recipes to earn special effects.
The game will ship in North America on August 4. Atlus released the game in Japan in November.
The limited preorder and launch editions of the game will include a special box, "Rough Sketch" soundtrack CD arranged by series composer Yuzo Koshiro, and the "Official Staff Book" that includes artwork, descriptions, and character background information. The limited versions will also bundle QR codes that unlock Grimoire Stones especially for beginning players.
The game will feature Story and Classic modes that allow players to choose the level of difficulty from Picnic to Expert. Classic mode allows players to create their own custom characters for their party, just as the original Etrian Odyssey II game for Nintendo DS did.
The game remakes and updates the Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard (Sekai-ju no Meikyū 2: Shoō no Seihai) dungeon-crawling RPG. Just as in the Untold remake of the first Etrian Odyssey game, players can choose to relive the original game with custom characters in Classic mode, or play the new Story mode with a fixed party. Players can also choose between the original Nintendo DS version's music or the new orchestral score during gameplay.
