Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine's English Trailer Unveils Netflix Premiere Date

Netflix began streaming an English trailer for Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine, the second season of Knights of Sidonia, on Thursday. The video reveals that the season will premiere on Netflix on July 3.
The line of dialogue at the beginning of the video is, "It's nice to meet you everyone. My name is Tsumugi Shiraui."
The second season based on Tsutomu Nihei's science-fiction manga series premiered on April 10 on the Animeism programming block. Hiroyuki Seshita, the assistant director of the first season, replaced Kobun Shizuno as the director of the second season at POLYGON PICTURES, and Sadayuki Murai returned to be in charge of the series scripts.
The first TV anime season premiered in Japan last April and Netflix premiered the English version streaming in July. Sentai Filmworks revealed in February that it will release the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.
A compilation film of all 12 episodes of the first season opened in Japanese theaters on March 6. The film also contained new sequences and redone sound effects.
