JAM Project, Little Glee Monster, Gacharic Spin also announced as musical guests

The organizers of the J-Pop Summit event in San Francisco revealed last week that they will host anime director Kōji Morimoto, DJ Ken Ishii, and actor Tadanobu Asano (pictured at right) as guests of honor in this year's event.

Asano (Ichi the Killer, Thor, Redline, live-action Lupin III) will present director Sogo Ishii's Electric Dragon 80000V film, which stars Asano. He will also participate in an audience Q&A session during the event.

Ishii (Reign: The Conqueror) will host a live DJ set collaboration with Morimoto (The Animatrix, Memories, Genius Party). The pair previously collaborated on the music video for Ishii's 1995 single "Extra," which Morimoto animated. Morimoto recently animated the opening segment of the Short Peace short anime anthology.

The organizers of the event also announced on Wednesday that they will host music guests JAM Project (Super Robot Wars game series, MazinKaiser, New Getter Robo, Bakuman.), Little Glee Monster (Pokémon XY, Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages), and Gacharic Spin (Dragon Ball Z Kai). The three bands will perform on August 8.

The event is also hosting pop singer Eir Aoi (Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Aldnoah.Zero) and Tatami Galaxy artist Yūsuke Nakamura.

The J-Pop Summit will be held on August 8-9 at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco's Marina district.
