Singaporean anime distribution company Odex began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for the 19th Detective Conan anime film, Detective Conan: Gōka no Himawari (Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno), on Tuesday. The trailer, which first streamed in March, features rock band Porno Graffitti's theme song "Oh! Rival."

The film premiered Japan on April 18. From April 18 to May 24 the film ran on 348 screens and sold 3,319,050 tickets for a total box office intake of 4,148,389,300 yen (about US$34 million).

The trailer reveals that the film will open in Singapore with English subtitles on July 23.

The films story centers on Conan as he tries to track down Kaito Kid, who is supposedly steals a replica of one of Van Gogh's Sunflowers paintings during an auction. (A real version of the painting depicted was owned by a Japanese collector, until it was destroyed during World War II. A version of the painting depicted in the movie was recently recreated.)

Kobun Shizuno is returned to direct the film, and Takeharu Sakurai wrote the script. Katsuo Ono composed the music. Minami Takayama reprised her role as Conan Edogawa with Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mōri, Rikiya Koyama as Kogorō Mōri, and Kappei Yamaguchi as Kaito Kuroba/Kaitō Kid.
