Singer-songwriter and voice actress Minami Kuribayashi revealed on her official blog on Tuesday that she has a son.
In a handwritten letter, she writes that, "For a long time, I've talked about this to people around me. But we couldn't get our opinions to agree, so I couldn't tell anyone until now. […] When the child was born, I wanted to tell everyone, but there was nothing I could do. I wanted to say it, but I couldn't, and all I could do is cry. […] I decided to put up a front and live with the conflict of not having to discuss my private life."
She further writes that, "I have chosen to announce this: I have decided to move forward from the 'here and now' that I was standing still in."
Regarding her work, she writes, "I haven't told them, so I don't know what will happen from here. I expect that, because of this announcement, there will be a need to start from zero."
Kuribayashi played the role of heroine Haruka Suzumiya in the 2003 TV anime Rumbling Hearts (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien), and also composed, wrote, and performed its theme song "Precious Memories." She also voiced the role of Kasumi Yashiro in the Muv-Luv visual novel series, and written and performed theme songs for the games. She has variously written and/or performed songs for such anime as Chrono Crusade, My-HiME, Kämpfer, Infinite Stratos, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, Medaka Box, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!, and more.
