Hi Score Girl's Oshikiri Starts HaHa Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Chapters of Yūyami Tokkōtai, Tsubaki, Derodero also available in app

This year's 31st issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine published the first chapter of manga artist Rensuke Oshikiri's (Hi Score Girl, Pupipō!) new HaHa (Mom) manga series on July 2. Kodansha is also publishing the manga in Weekly D Morning, its digital app companion for Morning magazine.

The official Morning website describes the manga:

The person who gave birth to you should have a story for the life they have lived so far. In history class, I learned the stories of a lot of strangers, but somehow I don't know anything about my mother's history.

Someday, I'm sure I'll regret that. Which is why, before that day comes, I want to find out about something. A human comedy about "me" and "mother" that may change you a little.

In commemoration of Oshikiri serializing the new manga, the Weekly D Morning app is also posting the first and second chapters of his Yūyami Tokkōtai manga, the first chapter of his Tsubaki manga, and the first through fourth chapters of his Derodero manga.

Oshikiri also recently launched a new manga series titled Guranba in Gentosha's Comic Birz magazine in May. Oshikiri also recently publish a one-shot "traditional fantasy" manga titled "Hell Fire" in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.

Oshikiri had been serializing the arcade romantic comedy Hi Score Girl (High Score Girl) in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine since 2011, but the manga has been on hiatus since last year due to a legal controversy involving multiple game developers. The manga had an anime adaptation announced before the controversy broke. Oshikiri's Pupipō! horror comedy manga ran in the free web comic magazine Flex Comix Blood from 2007 to 2009. The series inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in 2013.
