The official website of the La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky TV anime also announced in May that the anime event "Kin-iro no Corda Blue♪Sky Zenkoku Gakusei Ongaku Concours" (tentative title; La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky National Student Music Contest) will be held at Tokyo's Toyosu PIT venue on October 25. The La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky anime adapts KOEI Tecmo Games' Kin-iro no Corda 3 (La Corda D'Oro 3) dating simulation game. The game's story follows a girl named Kanade and her relationships with the orchestra members and other boys at her school. The anime series premiered in Japan in 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

The game franchise already inspired a television anime series in 2006, and a television special sequel, La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~, aired in spring of 2009. Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD in North America, and Crunchyroll streamed both anime. Kure also adapted the first Kin-iro no Corda game into a manga, and Viz Media published the 17th and final volume of the original La Corda D'Oro manga in North America in 2013.

Koei Tecmo Games announced on Saturday that it is developing the La Corda d'Oro 4 PS Vita game for a 2016 release.
