Piece of Cake's George Asakura Starts Hazeru Hoshi Manga

This year's 36th issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine announced on Monday that George Asakura will launch a new manga series tentatively titled Hazeru Hoshi (Bursting Star) in the magazine's combined 42nd and 43rd issue, which Shogakukan will publish on September 14.

The magazine teases:

A story of growth and dramatic ballet!
A boy who is fascinated by male dancers. But one day, he suffers a setback...

Asakura's previous manga series, A Perfect Day for Love Letters, inspired into a live-action television drama in January 2014. Her Piece of Cake manga is also inspiring a live-action film adaptation, which will in Japan on September 5.

The same issue of Big Comic Spirits also revealed that Kiminori Wakasugi's (Detroit Metal City, All Esper Dayo!) previously announced new series is titled Sekai wa Boku no Mono (The World is Mine). Wakasugi will launch the manga in the magazine's 45th issue, which Shogakukan will publish on October 5.

Wakasugi launched All Esper Dayo! in Weekly Young Magazine in 2009, shortly before he ended the popular comedy Detroit Metal City the following year. Wakasugi announced last month that he plans to end All Esper Dayo! (Minna! Esper Dayo!) in four more chapters. Kodansha will release the seventh compiled volume of the series on Thursday, and the eighth and final volume in September. All Esper Dayo! inspired a live-action television series and a special, as well as an upcoming film that will open in September.
