TOHO began streaming a PG-12 rated promotional video on Friday for the first of two Attack on Titan live-action films. Film director Shinji Higuchi supervised the video.

The first film debuted last weekend in Japan, and it topped the Japanese box office charts, earning 603.47 million yen (about US$4.866 million). The film sold approximately 467,000 tickets for the weekend.

Funimation hosted the world premiere of the film in Hollywood last month.

The second live-action Attack on Titan film, Attack on Titan: End of the World, will open in Japan on September 19. Funimation plans to release the first film in American theaters this fall, and the company has theatrical, video-on-demand, home video, and broadcast rights to the films.
