Hanabee Announces God Eater at SMASH! 2015

Hanabee's new title was revealed during their secret screening at SMASH to be God Eater. God Eater will start streaming on Hanabee.com.au shortly but you can view their announcement here.
God Eater
In the year 2071, the Far East is ruled by angry gods. 20 years ago unknown life forms called “Oracle cells” begin their uncontrolled consumption of all life on Earth. Humanity both fears them and reveres them as "Aragami." They are immune to all weapons and the mankind's numbers continue to dwindle. The last bastion of hope is the newly developed "God Arcs" weapons that utilize Oracle cells to fight back. The weapons wielders band together into an elite force dubbed "God Eaters."
In the year 2071, the world has come under attack from the discovery of "Oracle Cells", a unknown life-form dedicated to consuming all life on Earth. Humanity both fears and reveres them as "Aragami". However in order to fight back the organisation known as "Fenrir" is formed, leading groups of people to exterminate Aragami with weapons known as God Arcs. Those brave people who fight the Aragami are known as the God Eaters.
Takayuki Hirao (The Garden of Sinners) is directing the anime at ufotable with character designs by Keita Shimizu (Tales of Phantasia, ToHeart2 key animation) and music by Gō Shiina (Kyousogiga, God Eater games). Hirao also was the director for the anime promotional video for the first game in 2010. ufotable will use hand-drawn animation to animate the God Arc weapons instead of CG. OLDCODEX (Free!, Kuroko's Basketball) performs the opening theme song "Feed A".
The series stars Ryūichi Kijima (Beast Saga's Argyllo, Beyblade: Shogun Steel's Torimaki B) as the protagonist Lenka Utsugi. Lenka, who is an original character, is a new "God Arc" (Jin-ki) weapon user. The staff chose Kijima for the role after auditioning more than 100 people.
Anime Consortium Japan (ACJ) is streaming the series through their Daisuki service alongside Crunchyroll in select markets.
God Eater is based on the video game of the same name, a 2010 video game for the PlayStation Portable developed and published by Namco Bandai Games in Japan. The game was later enhanced and re-released as God Eaters Burst in Japan in 2010 and then North America / Europe in 2011. The game was then followed by God Eater 2 on PSVita in 2013 and God Eater 2: Rage Burst on PSVita and PS4 in 2015.
