Project also running illustration contest; winning illustrations shown on project's end credits

The official Hatsune Miku blog announced a new collaboration project between Crypton Future Media's Piapro community content creation initiative, and game developer and publisher Sega on Monday. The announcement did not reveal the nature or format of the project.

In addition, the project is taking submissions for an illustration contest for the project. 200 winning illustrations will be displayed at the end credits of the project, and an as-yet unannounced prize from Sega.

Entrants to the contest must submit two illustrations. The first illustration must portray the theme of "A 'thank you' to Miku" or "A 'thank you' from Miku." The second illustration must portray the theme of "Your ideal concert."

The deadline for submissions is on September 11. The project will announce the winning illustrations on October 12.

Sega has collaborated several times before with Hatsune Miku, under the "SEGA feat. HATSUNE MIKU Project," which produced the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA game series for the PSP, PS3, and PS Vita platforms, the Miku Flick smartphone games for iOS, and the Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai series for Nintendo 3DS. The latest game in the collaborative project is Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd for the PS3 and PS Vita, which was released in Japan in March 2014, and in North America and Europe in November 2014.
