Ali Project performs ending theme for series premiering in October

The official website for the upcoming Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry (A Tale of Worst One or A Chivalry of the Failed Knight) TV anime began streaming the show's second promotional video on Wednesday. The video reveals more cast members for the series.

The additional cast members are as follows:

  • Yu Kobayashi as Ayase Ayatsuji
  • Hisako Kanemoto as Tōka Tōdō
  • Mariko Higashiuchi as Kurono Shingūji
  • Yuka Aisaka as Kagami Kusakabe
  • Yuka Iguchi as Nene Saikyō
  • Izumi Kitta as Yūri Oreki
  • M.A.O as Renren Tomaru
  • Megumi Han as Utakata Misogi
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Shizuya Kirihara
  • Yoshimasa Hosoya as Kuraudo Kurashiki
  • Kinryuu Arimoto as Ryōma Kurogane

Additionally, the official website of Japanese musical duo Ali Project announced on Wednesday that they will perform the show's ending theme song "Haramitsu Renge." The song also serves as the title song for the duo's new "Haramitsu Renge" CD single. The single will be the duo's first in two years since the 2013 release of their "Watashi no Bara wo Haminasai" single (the title song of which served as the opening theme song for the Rozen Maiden – Zurückspulen TV anime). Ali Project will release the CD single on October 21. The group will also release a new album titled Keraku no Susume (Pleasurable Suggestion) on September 13.

The official website of the Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry TV anime previously streamed a promotional video for the series in May.

The show's main cast includes:

  • Ryota Ohsaka as Ikki Kurogane
  • Shizuka Ishigami as Stella Vermillion
  • Nao Tōyama as Shizuku Kurogane
  • Shintarō Asanuma as Nagi Arisuin

The TV anime series will premiere in Japan in October on TV Tokyo, AT-X, and other channels.

Shin Oonuma (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, WATAMOTE) and Jin Tamamura (Invaders of the Rokujyōma!?) are serving as director and series director, respectively, at the anime studios SILVER LINK (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, WATAMOTE) and Nexus (Santa Company, Wakaba Girl). Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Hyperdimension Neptunia, Terraformars) is in charge of the series scripts, and Sei Komatsubara designed the characters. Jin Aketagawa of Magic Capsule is the sound director.

The "school sword action" story revolves around Magic Knights, modern magic-users who fight with weapons converted from their souls. Ikki Kurogane goes to a school for these Magic Knights, but he is the "Failed Knight" or "Worst One" who is failing because he has no magical skills. However, one day, he is challenged to a duel by Stella, a foreign princess and the "Number One" student. In this duel, "the loser must be obedient for life."

Riku Misora launched the light novel series with illustrations by Won in 2013, and Softbank Creative published the seventh volume in May. Megumu Soramichi has been drawing the manga adaptation in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine.
