"Card battle RPG" based on Adachitoka's manga will be first Noragami smartphone game

Mobile app developer Sakura Soft announced in an event for the Noragami TV anime held on August 8 that it is developing a Noragami smartphone game titled Noragami ~Kami to Enishi~ (Noragami ~Gods and Fate~). In addition, Sakura Soft also launched a teaser site for the game.

The game will be a free-to-play "card battle RPG," but users can purchase in-game items with real money. The game is slated to launch in fall this year, and it will be the first smartphone game created for the Noragami franchise.

Adachitoka launched the Noragami: Stray God manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2010. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in North America. The manga was adapted into a 12-episode TV anime in January last year, and will have a second season premiering in October titled Noragami Aragoto.

Funimation streamed the first season as it aired in Japan last year, and it describes the story:

Yato may just be a minor god now, but he's determined to make it big and he's got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don't seem to be going his way. He doesn't have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he's got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.

Funimation released the first season's DVD and Blu-ray Disc release in North America on July 7.
