Survival Game Club!'s Matsumoto also launches new series in same magazine

The official website for Kodansha's upcoming manga magazine Shonen Magazine Edge revealed four more manga on Thursday that it will publish in the magazine.

Haruka Fukushima (Instant Teen, Cherry Juice) will launch a manga adaptation of Kaoru Hayamine's Machi no Tom & Sawyer (The Town's Tom & Sawyer) mystery novel series. The series will mark the first time Fukushima is publishing a manga in a shōnen magazine. Fukushima will publish a one-shot that will serve as a prologue in the magazine's first issue, and then the manga itself will launch this winter.

Tokyopop published Fukushima's Instant Teen, Cherry Juice, and Kedamono Damono manga in North America, and Del Rey published her Orange Planet manga.

The magazine will also publish Hidekichi Matsumoto's (Survival Game Club!, Honto ni Atta! Reibai-Sensei) Kyōkai no Mikurina manga, MikiMaki's (Para☆Dise, Parasyte tribute one-shot) Hoshino-san-ke no Al to Kana (The Hoshino Household's Al and Kana) manga, and Akane Terai's (Shichifuku Mafia, Death Melody) Kagai Hiirowo (Red-light District Hiirowo) manga.

Matsumoto's Survival Game Club! and Honto ni Atta! Reibai-Sensei manga both inspired TV anime series.

Kodansha will launch the magazine on September 17. The magazine will ship on the 17th of every month, and Kodansha will also publish a digital version simultaneously with the print version.

Other manga that Kodansha will publish in the magazine include:

In addition, GoRA (original creator group for K franchise), Mito Satō (Haru no Hōtai Shōjo manga creator), and Takayuki Yanase's (mechanical designer for Gundam 00, Valvrave the Liberator) new manga series Seiyaku no Frontline (The Pledge of the Frontline) manga will launch in the magazine's third issue on November 17.

Shonen Magazine Edge's name comes from the fact that Kodansha is aiming to publish works "at the extreme exterior of the 'Magazine' group." Fumio Osano, Kodansha's editor for Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon and Codename: Sailor V manga, will serve as editor-in-chief of Shonen Magazine Edge.
