This year's 39th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump will announce on Monday that Haikyu! will get an original event anime special at this year's Jump Special Anime Festa tour. In the story, which takes place after the first season, Hinata and Kageyama fail a test and find that the make-up exam conflicts with their training camp.

The event will visit nine cities in Japan from November 3-15.

In addition to the Haikyu! original anime, the festival will debut Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma and Seraph of the End original event anime and the Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions film trailer. The Tokyo stop will also feature a talkshow with the cast of Haikyu!!. The event will also screen Gintama, but it has not confirmed whether or not it will be a new original episode.

Haikyu! also received an event anime at last year's Jump Special Anime Festa. This special received a DVD release with the 15th volume of the manga on March 4.

Production I.G's anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014 and ran for 25 episodes. A second series will premiere in October. The first series is getting two compilation film adaptations, the first of which premiered in July in Japan. The second film will premiere on September 18.

Sentai Filmworks has licensed the first series for North American digital and home video release and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
