The promotional video, titled "My First Mystery Dungeon," explains some of the gameplay elements, including taking quests from other Pokémon, the dungeons players can explore with up to three other Pokémon, tools the player can use, traps, the battle system, and the ability to recruit boss Pokémon as allies after defeating them. The video includes some of the live-action segments used in the game's TV commercials.

Nintendo describes the latest installment:

Players can look forward to even greater, randomly created dungeons that change each time they enter. In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, players will battle alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to save the world in a sweeping tale of adventure and mystery.

The game will feature all 720 Pokémon that will be available at the time of the game's debut. Players can choose the main player Pokémon and partner Pokémon from among 20 options: the three starter Pokémon from each generation, Pikachu, and Riolu.

Those who pre-order the game will receive a Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon theme for the Nintendo 3DS home menu, and a Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon-themed 3D sticker for the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo began taking pre-orders for the game on July 4.

The game will ship in Japan on September 19, in North America this winter, and in Europe next spring.

The previous entries in the franchise have sold more than 13 million units worldwide.
