Hikari Shiina, Ai Matsumoto, Anna Yano star in series about teenage girls

Crunchyroll announced on Saturday that it will stream Bandai Namco Pictures' Milpom stop-motion anime shorts. Crunchyroll began streaming the first episode on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. EDT. The series is available worldwide outside of Japan.

Daisuki is also streaming the series.

The anime stars Hikari Shiina as the main character Milpom, Ai Matsumoto as her friend Silky (named Ponpon in the pilot), and Anna Yano as Cacao. Yano also performs the opening theme "Milky Rally," which kz (livetune) wrote and composed.

Takaumi Furuhashi is directing the series, and is also in charge of storyboard and character designs. Deco Akao is in charge of the show's scenario.

Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:

The story takes place in a certain ordinary town where it is natural for everyone to wear an animal costume head. It depicts the everyday life of the main character MILPOM and her friends who live there, filled with the essence of Kawaii and a little bit cynical girls.

Bandai Namco Pictures officially launched in April. The company handles Sunrise's intellectual property aimed at children and family, such as the Aikatsu! anime.

Bandai Namco Pictures unveiled a pilot episode with English subtitles at Anime Japan in March.

Crunchyroll also announced on Saturday that it is streaming the live-action Doctor's Affairs (Ishi-tachi no Renai Jijō) series in the United States, Canada, Latin America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe (except for Russia). The series follows "a younger surgeon, Haruki Morita [who] falls in love with an older female doctor, Chizuru Kondo."
