Arcana Famiglia Gets PS Vita Port, Stage Play
posted on by Egan Loo
The first La storia della Arcana Famiglia game is getting a PS Vita port on December 23. The new La storia della Arcana Famiglia Ancora version will take advantage of the Vita's higher-resolution graphics, and it will feature the previously assembled cast.
Players can progress through the story using the Vita's touch screen, as if they were reading a digital manga. The game will also feature a new opening movie with the original theme song "Stellina" by Hitomi Harada. The Vita version will additionally include "Tanti auguri Felicita!" — the short story that was previously posted for a limited time on the game's official blog.
A stage play adaptation of the game franchise has also been green-lit for next January.
The game's story follows Arcana Famiglia, a self-appointed organization with mysterious powers that has protected a small Mediterranean island from pirates, foreign countries, and other threats. The only daughter of the family's "PAPA," Felicitá, will be married to the next head of the family in two months — and the successor will be decided in a competition that Felicitá herself will take part in.
The franchise originated in HuneX (VitaminX Addiction) and Comfort Soft's adventure game for female players in 2011. The first game has sold over 50,000 copies and spawned two 2012 spinoffs called Vascello Phantasma no Majutsushi and Festa Regalo, as well as a full Arcana Famiglia 2 sequel in 2013.
