Mizuho Kusanagi's manga also inspired TV anime, original anime DVD

This year's 20th issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine is announcing on Friday that Mizuho Kusanagi's fantasy shōjo manga Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona) is inspiring a stage play in 2016. More details will be on the production's official website and in Hana to Yume.

Funimation describes the story of the recent anime adaptation:

Upon her sixteenth birthday, the cheerful Princess Yona intended to tell her doting father of her love for SuWon, but her life was turned upside down after witnessing the man she loves cruelly assassinating her father. Heartbroken by this painful betrayal, Princess Yona fled the palace with her loyal servant Hak. Now, she will take up the sword and the bow on a quest to gain new allies and protect her beloved people.

Kusanagi, the creator of Mugen Spiral, Game X Rush, and NG Life, launched the Akatsuki no Yona manga in 2009. The manga's 19th volume will ship on Friday with an original anime DVD.

The 24-episode television anime of the manga ended in March. Crunchyroll and Funimation both streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
