The website for the Seraph of the End television anime began streaming the official trailer for the anime's second season, "Battle in Nagoya," with English subtitles on Monday. The trailer previews the new opening theme song "Two souls -toward the truth-" by fripSide (A Certain Scientific Railgun, Future Card Buddyfight 100)

The website also announced additional cast members for the Narumi squad:

Emiri Katō as Yayoi Endo

Takanori Hoshino as Taro Kagiyama

The Seraph of the End (Owari no Seraph) anime adapts Daisuke Furuya, Takaya Kagami, and Yamato Yamamoto's Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga. The story takes place in a world where an unknown virus has killed the entire human population except for children. Those children were then enslaved by vampires. The manga centers on Yūichirō Hyakuya, a human who dreams of becoming strong enough to kill all vampires.

The first season premiered on April 4, and Funimation streamed the first season as it aired in Japan. Funimation announced that it will stream the second season.

The new season will premiere on October 10 at 10:00 p.m. on the Tokyo MX channel. The following channels will also air the anime:

  • TV Aichi, October 11 at 1:50 a.m.
  • MBS, October 11 at 2:28 a.m.
  • AT-X, October 11 at 8:30 a.m.
  • BS 11, October 12 at 12:00 a.m.
  • TV Asahi CS Channel 1, October 19 at 1:00 a.m.

Nagi Yanagi (Bakemonogatari, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) is performing the new ending theme song "Orarion."

Furuya, Yamamoto and Kagami launched the dark fantasy manga series in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine in fall 2012. Shueisha published the manga's ninth compiled book volume last Friday.

Kodansha published the Owari no Seraph: Ichinose Guren, 16-sai no Catastrophe (Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose, Catastrophe at 16) prequel light novel's fifth volume on April 2. Vertical licensed the novel series for North America, and plans to release them as an omnibus.
