AnimEigo to Launch Kickstarter for AD Police Video Anime

North America anime distributor AnimEigo announced at its Anime Weekend Atlanta panel on Saturday that it plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign next year to reissue the AD Police anime. It also still plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for Riding Bean this year, after previously aiming for this past summer.
AD Police began as a spinoff of the science-fiction original video anime series Bubblegum Crisis. AnimEigo had released the 1990 AD Police original video anime series on videotape and DVD under the title AD Police Files. The 1998-1999 television remake Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 spawned its own AD Police television series in 1999.
AnimeEigo successfully funded a Kickstarter to release the Bubblegum Crisis original video anime series on Blu-ray Disc in 2013. It also reached its goal for a "Otaking Edition Subtitled Anime Blu-ray" for the Otaku no Video anime within 14 hours of the project's launch in May.
