miwa Sings Live-Action Kōnodori Drama's Theme Song

Manga-based medical drama starring Gou Ayano will premiere on TBS on October 16

The official website for the live-action drama adaptation of Yū Suzunoki's Kōnodori (The Stork) manga announced on Thursday that miwa (Colorful, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, Silver Spoon) will perform the the show's theme song "Anata ga Koko ni Ite Dakishimeru Koto ga Dekiru Nara" (If You Were Here and I Could Embrace You).

miwa will release the song's CD single on November 11.

The official website also announced that the drama will premiere on TBS on October 16 at 10:00 p.m., and will air every Friday in the same time slot.

Suzunoki's original manga centers around obstetrician Sakura Kōnotori, who is also a jazz pianist by night. The manga depicts his life and the lives of the resident doctors and medical interns in the OB/GYN department that Kōnotori leads.

Nobuhiro Doi (Season of the Sun, Nemuri no Mori) and Fuminori Kaneko (Ikebukuro West Gate Park) are directing the series, and Mutsumi Yamamoto is writing the scripts. Shinya Kiyozuka is supervising the piano themes.

Suzunoki launched the manga in Kodansha's Morning magazine in August 2012. Kodansha published the manga's 10th compiled book volume on September 23.
