North American manga publisher Kodansha Comics announced at its industry panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday that it has licensed Hounori's Spoof on Titan (Sungeki no Kyojin) and Hiroki Katsumata's I Am Space Dandy (Ore Space Dandy) manga. The company also revealed that comics artist Faith Erin Hicks (Friends With Boys, The Adventures of Superhero Girl) will contribute an original four-panel bonus comic to the back of Kodansha Comics' release of Vinland Saga volume 7. The comic is exclusive to Kodansha Comics' edition of the manga.

The Spoof on Titan manga is a four-panel parody series that is a spinoff of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga. Kodansha Comics notes that the series "is a fun, lighthearted parody from artist Hounori that brings an absurd sensibility to the series' beloved settings and characters."

The series was one of the first titles to launch on the Manga Box app in both Japanese and English in December 2013. The manga ended in December 2014, and Kodansha published the second and final volume of the manga in Japan on April 9.

Katsumata's I Am Space Dandy manga also ran on DeNA's Manga Box app, but only on the Japanese app. The manga ended in October 2014, and Kodansha published the manga's first and only compiled volume in November 2014.

Kodansha Comics describes the manga as follows (emphasis in below paragraph is Kodansha Comics'):

Space Dandy is an easygoing and forgetful alien hunter always on the lookout for new species while traveling through space with his robot assistant QT and cat-like alien named Meow. Based on the popular Space Dandy anime, this series also contains original stories not featured in the television show.

BONES, Shinichiro Watanabe, and Shingo Natsume's original Space Dandy television anime series aired in two 13-episode seasons starting in January 2014 and July 2014, respectively. Funimation streamed the both anime seasons as they aired, and also released both seasons on home video.

Kodansha Comics plans to release the seventh omnibus volume of Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga manga with Hicks' bonus comic in December.
