RWBY Manga by Dogs' Shirow Miwa Teased With Prequel Story, Visual

The official Japanese website for the RWBY project posted on Monday a visual and story introduction for the manga adaptation that Dogs manga creator Shirow Miwa is drawing.

The manga will be a new prequel about the four girls who would make up &TEAM RWBY upon enrolling in Beacon Academy. The manga's original story, supervised by Rooster Teeth, will reveal "the mystery hidden in four trailers" presented in Japan.
The series will debut in the December issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine on November 19. The first chapter will include back and center color pages. The magazine issue will bundle a mini clear file with art from the new RWBY manga. The series will be part of the magazine's special 20th anniversary project.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Japan licensed the American web series RWBY for distribution and merchandising in Japan. Six theaters in Japan will screen the episodes starting on November 14. A "theater limited-edition Blu-ray" will also go on sale on November 14.
The first main Blu-ray Disc and DVD release will ship in Japan on December 9. An original soundtrack will also be released on November 11.

The original web series follows four girls with unique weapons and powers who are training to hunt supernatural "Creatures of Grimm."
The series' creator Monty Oum passed away in February after suffering an allergic reaction to a medical procedure.
