The official website of DMM Games' Iwaihime, a new PC horror game written by Higurashi no Naku Koro ni creator Ryukishi07, announced on Friday that DMM Games has delayed the game from November 27 to January 29.

The official website also began streaming a demo movie for the game on Thursday. The movie previews some scenes from the game, introduces the characters, and also previews the game's theme song "Chitose Tsuzuri" by Rinne Yoshida.

The game was originally revealed as a download-only title, but DMM Games will release a package edition at Toranoana stores and by mail order. The limited Toranoana package edition will cost 7,800 yen (about US$62) and will include a serial number card to download the game, a tapestry illustrated by Kina Kazuharu, and a booklet. The download-only edition on DMM's website will cost 4,800 yen (US$38).

The game's cast includes:

Makoto Furukawa as Ryō Susuhara
Chinatsu Akasaki as Toe Kurogami
Mariko Honda as Tsubakiko Harumiya
Yuka Ōtsubo as Kanae Minobe
Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Lilia Nunokawa
Ryouko Tanaka as Mayu Hinakata
Yūki Tai as Natsuya Netsuda

Freelance illustrator Kina Kazuharu provides the character art for the "Japanese style romance novel game," and mocha provides the background art.

In the story, for generations the men of the Susuhara family have, upon reaching a certain age, left home and gone their own way, living alone with no one to depend on until they are acknowledged. The protagonist is a high school student who has left home and is comfortable at his new school. But there's a strange girl named Toe Kurokami. She carries what appears to be Japanese doll, and he's sure its hair grows and it whispers things. Meeting her might be his destiny.

Ryukishi07 said in June when he announced the game that he had kept the game under wraps for two years.

Tomo Tanaka is also serializing a manga adaptation of the game in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine. The manga launched on September 25. Tanaka is drawing the manga, while Ryukishi07 is writing the manga's scripts. Kina Kazuhara is credited with the original character designs, and DMM.com is handling the editorial supervision.

Ryukishi07 is also working with his doujin group 07th Expansion, along with Romeo Tanaka and Yūto Tonokawa, on a new project titled TRianThorogy ~Sanmenkyō no Kuni no Alice~ (TRianThorogy ~Alice in the Country of the Three-Sided Mirror~).
