Europe-exclusive Collector's Edition shipping in Q1 2016 also revealed

Nintendo announced during its Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday that Square Enix will release its Bravely Second: End Layer role-playing game in N. America in spring 2016 and in Europe in Q1 2016. Square Enix will also offer the game with a Collector's Edition exclusive to Europe. Nintendo is streaming a video that previews the contents of the Collector's Edition.

In addition to a copy of the game, the Collector's Edition will include the game's original soundtrack, a 250-page art book, and a figurine of the character Agnes.

Nintendo had announced in June that the game would head West in 2016.

The game is a sequel to the Nintendo 3DS game Bravely Default, but features a new protagonist as well as returning characters. The game shipped in Japan on April 23.

Main character designer Akihiko Yoshida previously announced his decision to leave Square Enix; however, he said he will continue to work on the Bravely Default series "for as long as he is needed." Yoshida again served as main character designer for the sequel, and supercell's Ryo composed the music. Sword Art Online illustrator abec also designed several new characters for the game.

Bravely Default's enhanced version, titled Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan, shipped in North America in February 2014.
