On Monday November 30, Anime Limited will release the first volume of its Blu-ray edition of the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam.
Manga Entertainment will release the second volume of Ghost in the Shell Arise on both Blu-ray and DVD. It carries the third and fourth episodes of the reboot of the cyberpunk franchise ('Ghost Tears' and 'Ghost Stands Alone'). Kazuchika Kise (chief animation director for Otogi Zoshi, Blood-C: The Last Dark) directed the series and designed the characters and Tow Ubukata (Le Chevalier D'Eon, Mardock Scramble) supervised and wrote the scripts. Production I.G produced the series, and Cornelius (Appleseed: Ex Machina) composed the music. The series has a new voice cast with Maaya Sakamoto as Mokoto Kusanagi and Kenichirō Matsuda as Batou.
MVM will release The Eccentric Family on both Blu-ray and DVD. The Blu-ray includes a 64-page hardcover art book with episode guides, character info, and illustrations. The series is set in Kyoto, where humans, tanuki (shape-shifting raccoon-dogs), and tengu (long-nosed goblins of Japanese folklore) intermingle. In the Shimogamo family of tanuki, Yasaburō lives for whatever strikes his fancy at the moment. P.A. Works adapted a novel by Tomihiko Morimi, the author of The Tatami Galaxy (Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei) novel.
