Universal Music Japan began streaming a preview of Yen Town Band's music video for its "Ainone" song on Wednesday. Film director Shunji Iwai directed the rotoscoped anime music video.

The music video depicts scenes from Iwai's Swallowtail 1996 film, animated through rotoscoping. Iwai recently directed his debut anime film The Case of Hana & Alice (Hana to Alice Satsujin Jiken), which opened in Japan on February 20, and was animated using similar rotoscoping techniques.

The name "Yen Town Band" originates from the Swallowtail film as a band that appears in the story. Chara, who played the role of Glico in the film, recorded the songs used in the film, and Sony Music Entertainment Japan released the songs in the single "Swallowtail Butterfly ~Ai no Uta~" and the album Montage in 1996. The album debuted at #1 on the Oricon weekly album chart for two weeks.

Universal Music Japan released Yen Town Band group's "Ainone" single on Wednesday. It is the first song released under the Yen Town Band name in 19 years. The musicians participating in the new single Nobuo Ōki (ACIDMAN), Ozaki Sekaikan (CreepHyp), Salyu, Iyori Shimizu (back number), and miwa. The group is also recording an album.
