New visual also reveals short-haired Yona for play running in Tokyo in March

The first 2016 issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume shōjo magazine and the official website for the Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona) stage play adaptation both revealed a new main visual for the stage play on Friday.

The new visual features Hiyou, Han Joo-Doh, and the recently announced characters from the Water Tribe in costume for the first time. The new image also reveals Yona with short hair.

The play will cover the Water Tribe Arc. The arc runs from volume 14 to 16 of the original manga, and was not covered by the anime adaptation.

The cast includes:

The play will run at the EX Theater Roppongi in Tokyo for 10 performances from March 16-21.

Viz Media announced earlier in October that it has licensed the manga, and it describes the story:

The fantasy adventure shojo manga series that also inspired the fan favorite anime about a princess who's on a quest to reclaim her throne! Princess Yona lives an ideal life as the only princess of her kingdom. Doted on by her father, the king, and protected by her faithful guard Hak, she cherishes the time spent with the man she loves, Soo-won. But everything changes on her 16th birthday when she witnesses her father's murder!

Mizuho Kusanagi, the creator of Mugen Spiral, Game X Rush, and NG Life, launched the Akatsuki no Yona manga in 2009. The manga's 19th volume shipped in September with an original anime DVD.

The 24-episode television anime of the manga ended in March. Crunchyroll and Funimation both streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
