Yuka Fujiwara launched manga based on Studio Trigger anime in September

The January 2016 issue of Shueisha's Ribon shōjo magazine (cover pictured at right) announced on Tuesday that Yuka Fujiwara is ending her Little Witch Academia: Tsukiyo no Ōkan (Crown of Midnight) manga in the magazine's next issue, which Shueisha will publish on December 28.

The manga's preview tagline shown in the magazine in July read: "The protagonist who longs to be a magic user... meets a certain man!?"

Fujiwara launched the manga (pictured below left) in Ribon on September 3. Terio Teri also launched a Little Witch Academia manga in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine on August 19, and ended it on November 19.

Studio Trigger produced Little Witch Academia under the Anime Mirai program anime in 2013. The sequel, Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade, was funded through a Kickstarter campaign that surpassed its main goal of US$150,000 in five hours. The campaign ended one month later in August 2013 and accumulated US$625,518 (about 74 million yen) from 7,938 backers to reach its stretch goals. The film premiered at Anime Expo in July.

The anime's story follows Akko Kagari (Megumi Han), who begins magic school at the Little Witch Academia. While studying there, she hopes of becoming just like her idol, a magician named Shiny Chariot.
