Discotek Licenses Dai-Guard Anime

Discotek Media announced in its March release schedule on Thursday that it has licensed the Dai-Guard television anime series. The company will release the full series on DVD in March.

In the story, an alien race known as the Heterodyne resurfaces after 13 years without warning. To combat the Heterodyne, three office workers from the 21st Century Security Corporation operate Dai-Guard—a giant robot no longer regarded as an oversized paperweight. Unfortunately, Dai-Guard is obsolete and in disrepair.

ADV previously released the 26-episode series on six DVD volumes from 2002-2003. Two episodes of the show aired on Cartoon Network's Toonami as part of "Giant Robot Week" in 2003.
