"Scout Attack" skill, more confirmed monsters profiled

The February issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine confirmed on Saturday that the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Nintendo 3DS game is slated to ship in Japan on March 24. The issue also introduced the "Scout Attack" skill and the newest confirmed monsters that will appear in the game's roster of more than 500 monsters.

The newly confirmed monsters are: Needleman (Dragon Quest X), Witch Greichel (Dragon Quest X), Besking (Dragon Quest: Monster Parade), and Grand Caesar (Dragon Quest: Monster Parade).

When the player uses the Scout Attack skill, an enemy monster's scout rate increases. As the scout rate increases, it becomes more likely that the player can successfully recruit an enemy monster as an ally. If the player uses the "Accumulate Tension" command, attacks become more powerful, and the scout success rate increases.

A new promotional video also debuted at Jump Festa this past weekend:

The game features a silver-haired protagonist and a "mysterious being" called Nochōra. The story takes place in a "cyber" world with advanced science, and the device the main character wears on his ears is called a "reactor." A demo of the game debuted at the Jump Festa 2016 event that was held at Chiba's Makuhari Messe event center on Saturday and Sunday.

Like previous games in the series, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 has designs by Akira Toriyama.
