Japanese band Wagakki Band announced on Monday that they will perform in the United States in two locations in March. The band will perform at Irving Plaza, New York on March 14, and they will also perform at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, which will be held from March 11 to 20. The band will promote their newly released album YASOEMAKI, which they released last September.
Avex began streaming an English video on Thursday promoting the appearances.
The band made their U.S. debut at Anime Expo last July, and New York Comic Con screened the Wagakki Band Concert Movie in October.
The group combines rock with traditional Japanese instruments and features a vocalist who recites Japanese poetry. They previously performed the opening and ending theme songs for the Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors) television anime series, as well as the Shingeki no Kyojin ~Hangeki no Noroshi~ live-action television series' theme song "Hangeki no Ha." The band will contribute the theme song to this year's Twin Star Exorcists TV anime series.
