Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it has added the Flame of Recca anime to its catalog with both the English dub and Japanese dub with English subtitles. In addition, Crunchyroll will simulcast the live-action travelogue series Iida Tokimeki Trip (Linear Mirai Toshi: Iida Tokimeki Tabi), which focuses on Iida City in Nagano Prefecture and features an animated opening sequence.

Flame of Recca is available in the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand. The full 42-episode series is available for premium members, and Crunchyroll will release 13 episodes for free members every week.

The anime adapts Nobuyuki Anzai's manga of the same name. The story follows Recca, a boy who claims to be a ninja and will serve whomever defeats him in combat. One day he meets a girl named Yanagi who can heal almost any injury. He chooses to serve her and finds out that he has his own special powers as a descendant of the Hokage ninja clan.

Discotek Media released the full series on DVD last February. Viz Media previously released the series on DVD from 2004 to 2007. Viz also released the 33-volume manga series in North America.
