Fairy Tail Zero's English Broadcast Dub Cast Revealed

posted on by Egan Loo

North American anime distributor Funimation announced the English broadcast dub cast for the Fairy Tail Zero anime on Friday. The first dubbed episode begins streaming on Friday at 9:00 p.m. EST.

The cast, under ADR Director and lead writer Tyler Walker, assistant director Aaron Dismuke, and ADR engineers Patrick Morphy, William Dewell, and Zachary Davis, includes:

Mavis Vermillion Leah Clark
Yuri Dreyer Clifford Chapin
Warrod Sequen Cris George
Precht Gaebolg David Trosko
Zera Jeannie Tirado

Funimation describes the Fairy Tail Zero anime:

This prequel series depicts the founding of the Fairy Tail guild. Many years ago, Mavis Vermilion was a servant on Sirius Island, mistreated by a guild master and his daughter, Zera. But Mavis stayed positive, because her mother once told her that fairies never visit people who cry about their problems. When the guild came under attack, Mavis pulled Zera from the wreckage into the forest. Seven years went by, and the powerful wizards Warrod Sequen, Precht, and Yuri Dreyer arrived on the island, seeking a powerful jade gemstone. This journey would change the course of magical history.

The series premiered in January, and Funimation is already streaming the English-subtitled version. This is the first time that Funimation is streaming Fairy Tail in both Japanese audio with English subtitles, and with an English broadcast dub.

The Fairy Tail Zero anime is based on Hiro Mashima's prequel manga to his own Fairy Tail manga. Kodansha Comics announced in November that it has licensed the manga and will release it in summer 2016. Kodansha Comics publishes the main Fairy Tail manga in North America, and Crunchyroll is releasing new chapters online as they come out in Japan.
