Dr. DMAT Medical Manga Ends

Manga inspired live-action TV series in 2014 starring Tadayoshi Ōkura

The official website for Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine published the 44th and final chapter of Akio Kikuchi and Hiroshi Takano's Dr. DMAT - Gareki no Shita no Hippocrates manga on Wednesday.

The story follows Hibiki Yakumo, a member of Tokyo's Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) who risk their lives to rescue people trapped by earthquakes, tunnel collapses, train or plane accidents, landslides, poison gas outbreaks, or other disasters.

The manga inspired an 11-episode live-action TV series that aired in January-March 2014 starring KANJANI Eight band member Tadayoshi Ōkura.

Takano and Kikuchi launched the manga in Shueisha's Super Jump magazine in 2010, and then switched publications to Super Jump's successor magazine Grand Jump Premium in 2011 when Super Jump ceased publication. The manga then moved online on Grand Jump's website last year. Shueisha will publish the manga's 11th and final compiled volume on April 19.
