Demo contains adventure not present in main game

Nintendo announced during its Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday that the demo for Square Enix's Bravely Second: End Layer Nintendo 3DS role-playing game will arrive in North America on March 10. The demo, titled Bravely Second: End Layer – The Ballad of the Three Cavaliers, will contain an adventure not present in the main game. In addition, players can transfer save data from the demo into the main game for in-game bonuses.

Nintendo also began streaming an English trailer for the game on Thursday.

Nintendo already released the game in Europe on February 26, and the company will release the game in North America on April 15. Nintendo is releasing a Collector's Edition in both territories.

In addition to a copy of the game, the Collector's Edition in the North America will include the game's original soundtrack and a 250-page art book. The Collector's Edition retails for US$69.99. The Collector's Edition in Europe of the game includes these items plus a figurine of the character Agnes.

The game is a sequel to the Nintendo 3DS game Bravely Default, but features a new protagonist as well as returning characters. The game shipped in Japan last April.

Main character designer Akihiko Yoshida previously announced his decision to leave Square Enix; however, he said he will continue to work on the Bravely Default series "for as long as he is needed." Yoshida again served as main character designer for the sequel, and supercell's Ryo composed the music. Sword Art Online illustrator abec also designed several new characters for the game.

Bravely Default's enhanced version, titled Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan, shipped in North America in February 2014.
