Akita Shoten Creates Digital Versions of its Manga Magazines

Weekly Shōnen Champion #15 gets 1st digital version on March 15

A digital version of this year's 15th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine will go on sale through the Kindle Store and other digital book retailers on March 15. The print version of the issue went on sale in Japan on Thursday. Starting with the 16th issue, digital versions of the magazine will launch every Tuesday.

Akita Shoten plans to begin releasing digital versions of all its manga magazines in 2016. The publisher's manga magazines include Young Champion, Champion RED, Monthly Princess, and Elegance Eve.

Weekly Shōnen Champion launched in 1969. The magazine changed from twice monthly publication to weekly publication in 1970. The magazine publishes manga series including Yowamushi Pedal, Saint Seiya: Next Dimension - The Myth of Hades, Baki The Grappler, Furutto on Thursday, and My Monster Secret.
