Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Akashic Records Light Novels Get Anime

posted on by Karen Ressler
Story about a lazy magic school teacher also has manga adaptation

This year's May issue of Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Magazine will announce on Saturday that Tarō Hitsuji's Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Akashic Records (Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor) light novels will get an anime adaptation.

In the "action fantasy" story, Guren is a part-time teacher at a magic school who is inclined to write "self-study" on the blackboard and then take a nap. One of his students, Sistina, gets angry and challenges him to a duel and he is easily defeated. However, when a terrible incident threatens the school, Guren shows intense dedication to protecting his students.

Kurone Mishima (The Devil Is a Part-Timer! High School!, KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!) provides the illustrations for the original light novels. Fujimi Shobo published the fifth light novel volume on November 20 in Japan.

Aosa Tsunemi began drawing a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine last March, and Kadokawa shipped the second compiled volume on December 22. Fujimi Shobo will also publish a collection of short stories, Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Tsuisō Nishi, on Saturday.
